## Cool Little Side Project Completed

I recently wrapped up a nice little side project that has been both enjoyable and rewarding. This project prominently features **Sunrise Red** paint by Rust-Oleum, which is known for its vibrant and eye-catching hue. The choice of this particular color was intentional, as it brings a sense of warmth and energy to the piece, making it a standout addition to any space.

To enhance the overall aesthetic and durability of the project, I applied a **tung oil finish** to the interior and sides. Tung oil is revered for its ability to penetrate wood deeply, providing a protective barrier while highlighting the natural beauty of the grain. This finish not only adds a rich, warm tone to the wood but also offers excellent water resistance, making it ideal for various applications. The application process involved multiple coats, allowing each layer to cure properly, ensuring a robust and long-lasting finish that enhances both the look and feel of the project.

To further protect the surfaces and ensure longevity, I sealed the entire piece with **two layers of Spar Varnish**. Spar Varnish is specifically formulated for outdoor and marine environments, providing exceptional durability against the elements. Its flexibility allows it to expand and contract with temperature changes, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the finish over time. The application of this varnish not only adds a glossy sheen that enhances the visual appeal but also offers a strong defense against UV rays, moisture, and wear.
